The spectroscopy

Research Group

The spectroscopy group at UD-AIST specialises in the study of spectroscopy to detect and quantify the molecular composition of biological samples as well as to investigate the atomic dynamics and vibrational motion in molecules. Our work is highly interdisciplinary, integrating laser science, Raman spectroscopy, Near-infrared (NIR)/mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy, ultrafast optical science, and ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopy.

Research topics

Identification of pathogenic bacteria and monitor of their response to antibiotic using NIR spectroscopy/Raman spectroscopy combined with machine learning

Monitoring wound healing conditions with vibrational spectroscopy

Four-wave mixing process in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV) region

Two-dimensional spectroscopy in the XUV region for studying the electron dynamics and vibrational motion in molecules
